Rip Van Winkle: Chelsey & Micah

We love thinking back to Chelsey and Micah's Rip Van Winkle wedding. This special day was filled with so much love, happiness and a little bit of rain that made for a romantic first dance! These two were as sweet as they are beautiful and we loved our time working with them!

One of our favorite things about a Rip Van Winkle Wedding... the abundance of photo locations! During prep we found the most perfect tree to hang Chelsey's beautiful Town & Country gown on and the large oak right outside of the Orangie Room made for the perfect backdrop to grab some group shots!

Chelsey opted to do first looks with a few family members and her bridesmaids - they almost all resulted in tears! We always love witnessing these sweet moments shared between a bride and those closest to her!

Next up it was Micah's turn to share a first look with his bride. We walked through the gardens to the perfect spot for Lauren Smith Weddings and Bolgiano Media to create some photography magic. You could feel the love radiating from both Chelsey and Micah when they saw each other. They read their vows to each other privately and it was such a beautiful moment!

Chelsey and Micah's ceremony took place under the gorgeous huge oaks, overlooking the water - seriously a Southern dream!

The outdoor reception was perfectly planned, complete with chandeliers hanging from the trees over the dance floor. Minutes before their first dance, it began to rain. Instead of moving everything inside, they opted to share their first dance outside while it drizzled, which actually ended up being so romantic!

Dirk Guidry captured the scene perfectly, from the nearby porch!

The remainder of the night's activities took place inside due to weather. While it wasn't the original plan, everyone had such a fantastic time and partied the night away! Let this wedding be a reminder to roll with the punches and don't sweat the small stuff on your big!
