Mount Hope Plantation, Baton Rouge, LA: Sarah & Myles

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

I love reminiscing on Sarah and Myles' wedding day from this past spring. It was a laid back day full of so many sweet moments. Mount Hope Plantation House proved to be the perfect setting for both the ceremony and reception. The morning started out with some rain and clouds, but the sun came out that afternoon and it turned out to be the most beautiful day!

The girls' prepped for the big day at the Watermark Hotel located in Downtown Baton Rouge. I always love going to this hotel, it's the perfect mix of modern and timeless - my favorite part is the fun accent walls! Sarah's details are some of my favorite shots from the day. Her perfectly designed invitation suite paired with her classic jewelry was straight from a dream.

We made our way to Mount Hope Plantation where Sarah put on her custom Elizabeth Lee Bridal dress. This beautiful dress reflected Sarah's sweet personality and timeless style so perfectly! I'm also a complete sucker for bows, I mean come on! After putting on her dress, we positioned the bridesmaids for the big reveal - que the squeals and giggles. While we're talking about bridesmaids, let's take a moment for their dresses! Bella Bridesmaids does it again with these light blue beauties, complete with a bow on the shoulder.... the way to my heart!

Shortly after, the guys arrived at Mount Hope Plantation where they finished up prep.

Sarah and Myles shared a private first look and it was one of the best moments of the whole day! I believe they said "I love you" approximately 100 times. They interacted so sweetly and the love they shared was so apparent. It was so touching to witness Myles' reaction to seeing his bride.

I loved the black and white tux from After Five Tuxedo Rental - paired together their look was simply classic!

As the ceremony approached Sarah and Myles were both so calm, they spent every minute they could with Renee to create some seriously magical photos and Olivia catching all of the video footage. These ladies are complete masters of their craft and I could watch them work all day!

The guests made their way to the most charming outdoor ceremony space. The gazebo, which was the focal point of the ceremony, was transformed by Comeaux's Florist with greenery and beautiful white and blue hydrangeas. This statement piece gave such a nice pop of color and really helped to elevate the space. Their ceremony was short and sweet with tons of smiles, giggles and a few happy tears. Cones of flower petals were placed on the chairs for the guests to throw as the couple recessed down the aisle once the ceremony was complete - what a fun touch!

As the reception kicked off it was impossible not to notice all of the personal touches and beautiful details. I really loved how Sarah stepped a bit out of the box with blue linens - they were *chef's kiss* in the tented courtyard space. The monogrammed sign in book made for the perfect keepsake and the floral arrangements tied all of the colors together so well. Now for my absolute favorite detail - the cake! This cake will probably live rent free in my head for years to come - the layers, the florals, the monogram.... seriously perfection!

It didn't take long for the party to get started. After the formal dances were over Nola Dukes Band kept the crowd entertained for the whole 4 hours. This group danced so much that the majority didn't have shoes on by the end of the night. As a dance floor surprise Sarah brought inflatable props that were a HUGE hit and made for so many laughs.

Sarah and Myles had such an amazing wedding day at Mount Hope Plantation. Every detail was planned to a T and completely won my heart over - I'll never stop talking about how much details matter and how much they shape your wedding day! These two were so sweet and obviously so in love. Their people celebrated them hard and it's safe to say this is a night they will talk about for a long time to come. I'm so blessed to have played a part in this wedding and watch so many happy memories unfold - cheers to the Sonniers!
